Phill joined the Morling faculty in 2004 as Lecturer in Missions and Old Testament. Prior to coming to Morling, he and his wife, Diane were SIM's HIV/AIDS Consultants for Africa and beyond, which Diane continues. Phill’s Doctorate in Mininistry from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School is on SIM's response to the HIV/AIDS pandemic in Africa.

He has over 17 years of experience with cross-cultural ministries with the last ten being primarily focused on short-term missions. Brian lives in Sydney with his bride of 17 years, Melanie, and their three children.

Brian will be presenting the Short Term Mission elective on Saturday.

Graeme Kent

He worked for 35 years in manufacturing management roles with a multinational consumer goods company before taking early retirement in 1997. In addition to Australia, he and his wife Carol have lived in The Netherlands, South Africa and the USA and have travelled widely. His involvement as a Board member in Africa Evangelical Fellowship gave him a good grounding in missions. He has served in a number of leadership roles in SIM (Serving In Mission). He sees enormous potential for people to use their business experience and professional skills as a means for sharing the Gospel with sections of the community not readily reached by traditional missionary approaches.

"Are missionaries different to those of us who train for and work in normal occupations? Do professionals have to undergo full retraining if they want to become ministry specialists? Is it possible to use business and professional experience as a platform for cross-cultural ministry? Graeme's elective session on Business & Ministry will explore these issues to see how effective partnerships can bridge the two areas".

Bruce Dipple

A former pastor in NSW, missionary in French West Africa, and mission executive in Asia/Australia, Bruce is currently senior lecturer in mission and Director of the School of Cross Cultural Mission at Sydney Missionary and Bible College.  At the local level, he conducts seminars on mission in local churches, and at the international level he is a Mission Commission Associate with the World Evangelical Alliance and a member of the International Missionary Trainers Network.

This elective will seek to explore this relationship and to identify the potential benefits of handling it as an active partnership. The relationship between a local church and the mission agency can be a delicate one for the missionary, as well as for the church and the agency. The seminar will start in the Scriptures, explore some common scenarios, and clarify some working principles.

Peter Currie

Married to Janet, Peter has two married children and one grand-daughter. Apart from hanging out with his crew, he enjoys swimming, reading, watching movies and bashing away on his guitar. Peter leads the ministry team at Woonona Presbyterian Community Church. WPCC stepped up in 2007 to become the sending church for Dal & Corinne Proudfoot to Indonesia. The church also has mission interests in India, Cambodia and Africa.

Partnership in effective financial involvement explores Biblical foundations and practical ways to effectively finance missionaries through the local church.
